Orchid Bay Estates, of which Flying Cloud is a part of, consists of a small community of homes and rental villas stretching along about one mile of pristine oceanfront just south east of the town of Cabrera in the Dominican Republic. Guests have access to two lovely beaches only a few minutes walk away.
Villa Flying Cloud is of the Caribbean Victorian style and was completed in April of 2005. The villa consists of two main floors. Both floors are fully surrounded by verandas four-meters deep. All floors are covered with either Italian tile or caliche (cut coral). The woodwork is all custom fitted mahogany.
For those interested in Caribbean golf vacations, Villa Flying Cloud is located only 7 miles from the acclaimed Playa Grande Golf Course. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. as his crowning achivement in the Caribbean, the Playa Grande Golf Course is considered by many to be the "Pebble Beach of the Caribbean." Overlooking soaring 100 foot sea cliffs, 10 of the challenging 18 holes hug the edge of the ocean providing breathtaking views combined with complex-cross winds.
In addition to the Caribbean golf destination, within a few moments drive are some of the most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic. Playa Grande Beach, Playa Diamonte, Playa Caleton, Playa Entrada and others all offer unique characteristics with warm, azure blue ocean waters.
